Location Narrative ? The stand is on a small ridge of a very rocky area (rock climbers call it "the grotto") just to the NW of Table Mtn overlooking New Melones Lake. This is a sparsely vegetated stand but the plot is more vegetated than the rest of the ridge/polygon. There is an open shrub layer, open herb layer, and a significant cryptogram layer.
